Tips for Talking for People with Aphasia

 

1. Have conversations in a quiet area with less distractions

2. One-one conversations may be easier than groups

3. Make sure you can see each other’s faces clearly

4. Ask the person you’re talking with to slow down, if you do not understand them

5. Do not give up on the conversation

6. Try drawing, writing. Use as many ways of getting your message across as you can

7. Check if the person understands you. Repeat if necessary
